Order

1. Considering the nature of controversy involved, we deem it appropriate to hear the main issue involved in the concerned writ petition(s) regarding the validity, interpretation and sweep of the impugned notification(s). As a result, all the parties have agreed to proceed with the hearing on that question on 2nd July, 2020.

2. The petitioner-Union of India to file statement/note disclosing the number of registered licences dealing with the import of goods, referred to in the present proceedings.

3. The note shall also contain quantity of average annual consumption of the concerned goods in the country.

4. Parties are at liberty to file brief written submissions and the propositions which they propose to canvass in the context of the issue to be dealt with by this Court. That be filed through e-mail before 1st July, 2020 by 2.00 p.m.

5. List the matter(s) on 2nd July, 2020.
