A Cheque issued by Target Fin-Lease Ltd. drawn on the State Bank of Patiala payable in favour of the Punjab and Sind Bank for a sum of Rs. 25,25,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Crores Twenty Five Lakhs only) has been handed over by the learned Senior Counsel appearing for the Petitioner.


 


Issue notice to the Respondents as well as to Target Fin-Lease Ltd. returnable in two weeks.


 


Learned Senior Counsel submits that the earlier demand was for Rs. 20.03/- Crores which has now been increased to around Rs. 25 Crores.


 


There is a threat that the possession of the property in question shall be taken over.


 


Till the next date of hearing, status-quo as regards to possession shall be maintained.


 


The abovesaid Cheque shall be kept in the safe custody of the Registrar (Misc) of the Supreme Court of India in a sealed cover.


 


Dasti, in addition, is permitted.
