Order

1. The petitioner was directed vide Order dated 11.09.2019, to pay an amount of Rs. 3,00,000/- towards the arrears of maintenance admittedly due, as per the statement made by his counsel. The amount was to be paid within two weeks from the date of the order.

2. We are informed that only a small part of the amount ordered, has been paid to date.

3. As a last opportunity, the petitioner is directed to pay the balance amount as per Order dated 11.09.2019 on or before 30th November, 2019, failing which, the petitioner will be proceeded under the Contempt of Courts Act, for wilful disobedience with the Order passed by this Court.

4. Parties are directed to file fresh affidavits regarding the arrears to be paid, as prayed for.

5. A Report has been tendered by the Amicus Curiae Mrs. Anita Shenoy, Senior Advocate and Mr. Gopal Sankaranarayanan, Senior Advocate on the larger issue of framing guidelines for payment of maintenance. A copy of the said Report is directed to be circulated to the Judges for their perusal and consideration.

6. List the matter as Part-Heard on 18th November, 2019 for further proceedings.
