1. By a Judgment dated 08.04.2021 in M.A. No. 435/2021 in C.A. No. 9048/2021, this Court approved the schedule annexed by All India Council for Technical Education (Grant of Approvals for Staffing New Technical Institution, Introduction of Course and Programmes and Approval of Intake Capacity) Regulations, 1994. According to the said schedule, the last date for admissions is 30th July and the academic session 2021-2022 should start from 1st August. The AICTE has filed this application seeking extension of time as approved by this Court. Mr. K.M. Nataraj, learned ASG appearing on behalf of the AICTE submits that due to the Pandemic, the qualifying examinations for Class XII could not be completed on time. He further submits that the results of Class XII examinations are scheduled to be released around 30.07.2021 in view of which the schedule for admission for the academic session 2021-2022 for engineering and other technical institutions falling under the purview of AICTE has to be altered. The revised calendar proposed by AICTE for the academic session 2021-2022 is filed as Annexure-I A-3 alongwith applications.
2. In the peculiar facts and circumstances, we approve the revised calendar.
3. The revised calendar for the academic session 2021-2022 for admission in the engineering colleges and other technical institutions falling under the purview of AICTE shall be in accordance with the revised calendar that is attached to this order (Annexure-I).
4. Accordingly, the Miscellaneous application stands disposed of. Pending application(s), if any, shall stand disposed of.
