1. Delay condoned.
2. Mr. Gopal Subramanium, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner-publisher submitted that the order passed by the High Court being ad interim in nature and the next date being fixed to 09.08.2018, this Court may request the High Court to dispose of the main matter, i.e., C.M.(M) Nos. 556 and 557 of 2018 by the end of September 2018. We request the High Court accordingly.
3. Mr. Subramanium also submitted that as far as the petitioner herein is concerned it will file the reply before the High Court on or before 02.08.2018. Any rejoinder to the said reply shall be filed by the respondent(s) herein on or before 07.08.2018 so that the learned Single Judge will be in a position to take up the matter on 09.08.2018.
4. A further submission has been advanced that while disposing of the main civil revision, the High Court should not be influenced by the observations made with regard to interim order.
5. Though ordinarily we would have refrained from saying anything on this aspect, yet, keeping in view the contentions advanced with regard to the freedom of speech and expression and the rights of an author in writing a book, we only intend to clarify that the said observations should not influence the adjudicatory process while dealing with the matter finally.
6. With the aforesaid observation and request, the Special Leave Petitions stand disposed of.
7. Pending applications, if any, are deemed to have been disposed of.
