1. Leave granted.
2. Heard Mr. Vishnu Mehra, learned counsel for the appellant and Mr. Kapil Arora, learned counsel for the respondents.
3. In the course of hearing, a suggestion was given to the learned counsel for the respondent that if the amount awarded by the High Court is reduced to Rs. 80,00,000/- (Rupees eighty lakhs only), will it subserve the cause of justice. Learned counsel fairly accepted the said position.
4. Mr. Vishnu Mehra, learned counsel appearing for the appellant raised various objections, but we are not impressed by the same.
5. In view of the aforesaid, the appeals are allowed in part and the quantum determined by the High Court at Rs. 86,00,000/- (Rupees eighty-six lakhs only) is reduced to Rs. 80,00,000/- (Rupees eighty lakhs only). The said amount be paid as directed by the High Court within ten weeks hence.
6. No order as to costs.
