2. Heard Mr. Rishi Malhotra, learned counsel for the petitioner.

3. In our considered opinion, Criminal Appeal No. 156/2017, which is pending in the Court of Sessions Judge, Ghaziabad, should be disposed of at the earliest. It is accordingly directed that the appellate Court shall decide the said appeal by 5.8.2018 and send a compliance report to the Registry of this Court.

4. Let the order passed today be communicated to the learned Sessions Judge, Ghaziabad.

5. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to produce a copy of the order before the said Court.

6. The special leave petition is accordingly disposed of.

7. Pending interlocutory applications, if any, shall also stand disposed of.
