1. Leave granted.
2. The challenge in this appeal is to the Order of the High Court by which in lieu of reinstatement with 50 per cent back wages compensation of Rs. 1,00,000/- has been awarded to the petitioner-workman.
3. Limited notice was issued with regard to the quantum of compensation.
4. Having considered the matter, we are of the view that the compensation amount of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees one Lakh only) awarded by the High Court ought to be enhanced to Rs. 2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakh only). We order accordingly.
5. The payment due in terms of the present order will now be made to the petitioner within a period of two weeks from today. The Order of the High Court is modified to the above extent.
6. The appeal is accordingly allowed.
