Order

1. A letter has been circulated on behalf of the State of Maharashtra seeking an adjournment. On the previous occasion, this Court had indicated in the face of an opposition to the adjournment which was sought, that the matter would be heard today.

2. Mr. Rahul Chitnis appearing on behalf of the State of Maharashtra submits that he has received a copy of the duly affirmed counter affidavit this morning and would file it during the course of the day. We allow a short adjournment to enable the state to file its counter and for parties to peruse it.

3. Ms. Vibha Datta Makhija, learned Senior Counsel for the contesting respondents states that there is a serious apprehension that major financial and policy decisions will be taken in respect of the assets in the guise of seeking an adjournment.

4. We direct by an ad – interim order that no financial or policy decisions in relation to the functioning of the Board or the assets shall be taken until further orders of this Court.

5. The present order shall not affect the distribution of meals or langar and the functioning of the Gurudwara.

6. Learned counsel for the parties are agreed that they shall proceed to the final hearing on the next date and no further adjournment shall be sought.

7. List the Special Leave Petitions on 4 August 2020.
