1. Heard learned counsel for the parties.
2. Leave granted.
3. These appeals arise out of the order passed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court directing payment of pendente lite maintenance of Rs. 30,000/- (Rupees thirty thousand) per month under section 24 of the Hindu Marriage Act in the appeal preferred by the respondent-wife challenging the decree of divorce granted in favour of the appellant-husband.
4. Considering the submissions of the learned counsel appearing for the parties and the status of the parties and the materials on record, we are of the view that the quantum of maintenance awarded is reasonable. Hence we are not inclined to interfere with the impugned order. However, considering the arrears to be paid by the appellant, we direct the payment of arrears in installment of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand) per month. Arrears to be paid in addition to the maintenance, payable to the respondent-wife that has already been ordered by the Court.
5. We also request the Punjab and Haryana High Court to expedite the hearing of the matter.
6. The appeals are, accordingly, disposed of.
