2. Report No. 129 dated 18.09.2018 filed by Mr. Ranjit Kumar, Learned amicus curiae in Court
3. This Report has been filed by Mr. Ranjit Kumar, learned amicus curiae in Court today.
4. The Report shows a rather disturbing state of affairs where a Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri Manoj Tewari is alleged to have broken the seal of some premises despite sealing operations continuing in terms of orders passed by this Court.
5. A newspaper report in Navbharat Times dated 18th September, 2018 indicates a defiant attitude by the said Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri Manoj Tewari.
6. It is rather unfortunate that an elected member should try to defy the orders of this Court.
7. Taking cognizance of the Report submitted by the Monitoring Committee which discloses violation of orders of this Court and interference in the administration of justice which amounts to Contempt of Court, we issue notice to the alleged contemnor, Shri Manoj Tewari returnable on 25th September, 2018.
8. The Registry will ensure that the service of notice is effected on the alleged contemnor.
9. Mr. Sanjiv Sen, learned senior counsel appearing on behalf of the East Delhi Municipal Corporation says that he would like to take instructions from the East Delhi Municipal Corporation which was carrying out the sealing operations and which has also filed an FIR against the alleged contemnor.
