1. Learned counsel for the respondent(s) has entered appearance.

2. Learned counsel for respondent No. 2 submits that the dispute has been amicably resolved but learned counsel for respondent No. 1/State points out that the minimum sentence is seven years in case of a conviction under Section under Section 397 IPC and thus the sentence cannot be reduced below that period.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioners, however, submits that benefit can be made available of the Probation of Offenders Act, 1958.

4. Let the learned counsel for the parties file a short synopsis running into not more than two pages each.

5. List for hearing at the end of the miscellaneous board in the second week of January, 2021, after the winter recess.
