The Order of the court was delivered by
Order
1. In partial modification of our previous orders dated 7th May, 2012 and 7th January, 2019 we permit the alleged contemnors to deposit the sum of Rs. 4.50 crore in the registry of this Court within a period of seven days from today.
2. The amount so deposited will be kept in a short-term fixed deposit in the UCO Bank, Supreme Court compound, New Delhi which will be renewed from time to time until further orders.
3. I.A. No. 19624 of 2019 in Contempt Petition (Civil) Nos. 847-848 of 2017 is disposed of in the above terms.
4. Once the aforesaid deposit is made the contentions advanced by the alleged contemnors that no amount is due to the petitioner – Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited and the scope and purport of the settlement agreement will be considered by the Court.
5. List the matters after the deposit is made in terms of the present order.
